Opticiarc CD/DVD device won't work.

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 5515 computer and the CD/DVD device shows up in the device manager and in Windows Explore. But when a CD or DVD is inserted - nothing shows up. It does not run and the computer does not see the disc. The device is Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580@ SCSI CdRom. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but get the same results.

Configuration: Windows Vista Home Basic Internet Explorer 8.0
