What to do with my monitor screen

Hello,
i have a problem with my dell inspiron 1720..my 2-year old daughter did not remove the cord of the mouse when she closed the laptop..i found out the cord was inside the laptop when i opened it and maybe it's been pressed hard..there is a white, and black on the lower right part of my monitor...i dont know what to do with this...can i still fix this without replacing the screen or anything?please give some advice on what to do...
