Help my CoD WaW isnt woking

Hello,
My CoD WaW isnt working.
it goes black when i press "play multiplayer" and then back to the deskop and says and error.
what can i do, on my other computer when i press multiplayer it works, but i just need to download the new patch (1.6) i already have but still it says i need to patch...
please, i hope 1 of u can tell me what to do
