I-touch and music videos

Hello,
Ok i'm frustrated cuz I bought an 8 GB i-touch about a year ago. I've been trying to figure out how to download music videos into it without having to buy them from i-tunes. I had help from my cousin who told me to download real player onto my computer, that way I could download music videos from youtube and transfer them onto my i-touch. Well at first the video transferred onto my i-tunes library, under movies, but when i connected my i-touch to sync the video it doesn't sync it. My cousin asked me if my i-touch had a movies button on the menu, and I told her that it has a videos button on the menu, but when i click on it the video doesn't appear. It says that i can purchase them from the i-tunes store. Does this mean my i-touch doesn't play music videos or movies, or it does but I have to buy them from i-tunes and not download them from anywhere else. Someone please help!!! That's the main reason I bought the i-touch in the first place. If it was to store music only I would have been satisfied with the my original nano. If this is the case, what a rip-off!!!

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.15
