How can I connect my Netbook with the TV?

Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire One (one of the small computer without a CD drive). I'm trying to connect it to my television (A Polaroid HD Widescreen LCD TV/DVD combo). I bought the VGA and have connected it, and next on my TVscreen reads check PC mode waht will I do?

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0
