Changing the resolution

Hello,
My laptop screen is damaged ,so i am using a monitor plugged into it and i changed the resolution to watch a movie on my tv and i did something that the screen isnt on. Is there anyway to change the resolution with my keyboard? Ive done it before but cant find the site in which they told me. I know it was the windows key and something else but cant remember. My cheap behind wont fix the laptop but i know if i can fix this resolution back i dont really need to. My monitor is fine but i just need to change back to the way it was
