Hello,
I have an internal hard drive I had converted to a USB drive. The USB hard drive plugs into two USB ports rather than having a separate power supply. The internal hard drive was the original that came with my HP Pavilion dv5000. I have not used the USD hard drive for several months and now I find that it is not detectable
1. The hard drive has a red light on power up but no green light
2. The drive does not show up in any location on my computer
3. I unloaded all USB hard drives rebooted and reautodected everything OK----replug USB hard drive----nothing
4. Under power management, I turned off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and hen ran "scan for hardware changes" and then rebooted----did this back and forth several times-----no results
5. I went to the internet for driver updates-----there are none.
What to do?
