Device not recognizing

Hi,
While connecting my mobile to my computer active sync cannot recognize the device whats the problem with it ? I have an ipaq with win mobile 6.0

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0.1

Alright dude the problem is that you have certainly an older version of active sync installed on your computer. All you have to do is to download the latest one and install it then your mobile will be recognized on your computer. Win mobile 6.0 will not work on older versions of active sync.

But this user is using Windows Vista. ActiveSync does not run under Vista; it has been replaced with the (highly problematic IMHO) Windows Mobile Device Center. In my experience, and in searching the Internet on this topic, there are huge numbers of problems with people getting their phones to CONSISTENTLY connect via WMDC -- and other than RAPIMGR errors in the Event Logs, there are no user-facing errors generated. It's not clear to me yet whether the problem is with certain phones (but I think not), or with just WMDC, or a combination of the two -- but collectively we have got to do better here.
