Network over adsl router

Hello,

How can i set up a network (LAN or therwise) between 2 pc's that are both connected to a wireless router (adsl)? can this be done? am i able to share files, devices, drives etc? One pc on vista other on xp

Configuration: Windows Vista
Internet Explorer 7.0
