Cannot get a IP address from PPPoE server

Hello,
I followed Linksys instructions for setting up my wireless service. All was going well untill I checked to see the login status of my linksys. The staus of disconnected. I tried the "power surge" approach linksys recommends for this type of error "cannot get an IP address from PPPoE server, but several unsuccessful attempts later I am without connnection. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to do anything to the setting on my Mac? Please advice! Thanks for your help.
