Unable to remove avast in pc

Hello, my pc avast has effected with virus and need to be remove and install another one but when i try to remove it the system will trip off. even the icon in the taskbar disapper.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 2.0

I have successful uninstall avast anti virus but now i can not be able to install new one if try to my system will just trip off and restart back. Please help.
