Hi Jenifer

Thanks for your Question.. ? and this is to give the details of the problem.

Actually I want to connect a Pole Display(Customer Display) to the laptop... usually its connecting to the COM port of the Desktop computers. As u know there is no COM port for the laptop I want to connect it to the USB port.

The problem is that every this is set correctly. i.e I already have a USB port adapter. Installed the driver softwares and also changed the Port settings from the Device manager but still I'm not gettting the display from the device.

Thanks & regards

I've been using USB to Serial (RS-232) Port Adapters, and have had varying success with different ones. I've had success with one from Dynex that I bought at Best Buy, and another one from Belkin (not sure where I got that one). There was also another brand from Circuit City too. There were a few others that did not work.

Sometimes it is just a matter of buying a few and trying them out.

Hi Mike

Please tell me how to configure my USB port as COM port for RS232 communication. I have an adapter cable with me, but I am not very sure of the drivers needed. Please let me know how to go about it.

Thanks in advance

Vijay
