Problems accessing certain internet pages

Hello,

I can't access certain pages within sites on the internet more particulary some login pages. I am told that it is something to do with our Firewall settings on Port No. 443 ! where https is allowed and ttps is not allowed. My problem is I do not know how to access this and deal with it.

I am running McFee Security with Windows Firewall disabled as advised. We have a Linksys wireless router WUSB54GS which serves all 4 machines. Every machine has the same access problem. If I link to an unsecured network then we can access these pages but this is very dangerous particularly with regard to banking.

The strange thing is we were able to access these pages until a week ago so there could have been updates which changed settings without us knowing. Windows XP IE version 8.

Any ideas this is driving us up the wall (or should it be Firewall) ??????

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0
