No sound on window XP after update/installed

Hello,I updated Window Media Player 10&11
After completed installation, then I play music getting from the library
It won't play at all
The pop up said"Direct sound output V2.32(d) ERROR)
What should i do?
re install - it come up the same
Any sound driver to fix it?

Configuration: Windows XPInternet Explorer 7.0

Hi there,

normally when win media player 11 installs itself it makes a restore point and what i would advise you is to restore your computer at an earlier point where you were installing wmp 11. sometimes wmp 11 is not compatible with the sound card ot the sound onboard.

dear u need to re-activate ur sound card as it has been de-activated when u install it,,,,good luck
