No sound device

Hello,
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly. this is what my computer say's when i go on window media player

could not initialize direct sound. make sure your sound card/driver is installed properly. this is what it say's when i want to play a game i brought.

also when i go in device manager everything is fine in sound, video and game controller.

and it say's no audio device when i go on controll panel, sound speech and audio devices, sounds and audio devices.

i recenly got a family to use a cd rom to fix it.
