Hello,

My laptop , Acer Aspire 4310 could not start up. When i turn it on, the button turns to yellow but this message appears (white font, black background). the message says:

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONFIG/SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair"

what CD-ROM does it means? What steps should i proceed if i have the CD-ROM? and where i can get the CD-ROM if i don't have?

i need your advice and guides because i have urgent and important files in my laptop,
please help me.

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0.10
