Sims 3 installer isn't working

Hello,

I just bought sims 3 (mac) and when I go into the CD and click the installer it says "You can not open the application "sims 3 installer" because it is not supported on this architecture. What do I do?

Configuration: Mac OS X
Safari 531.9
