Drivers and network connections

Hello,

Please help I restored my ibm thinkpad to its original factory settings now, I can't get onto the internet there is no local area connection or 1934 connection option under network connections. Also I cant use windows media player because I need the drivers as it says there is no sound card. How can I get all the drivers for my laptop and how can I use the internet someone please help.
