Why does hard disk make noise???

Hello,
my hard disk has strated to make weird noise and it is stressing,,,is there any problem with it??

Configuration: Windows XP
Firefox 3.0

I recently noticed that too. There's something weird about Firefox 3.0. Either XP is sabotaging it or FF 3.0 doesn;t write to the disk cache correctly. Way too much disk activity.

floppy drive of my pc make weird noise after I plug in my flash disk into my pc .but my solution is that to switch off/unplug the floppy disk drive or when I put the floppy disk in the floppy drive that weired noise stops.Is my solution acceptable or is there another method to solve my problem.
