System recovery for presario S3100

Hello,
I did a complete system recovery using the 6 CDs I made when I purchased my Compaq but cannot get it to work. Am told I need to download drivers for that motherboard,on board sound, and LAN and Video.
Where will I find these, please...my searches have netted nothing so far.
I borrowed a Windows XP Operating disk...do I need to use that?
I am using a laptop, please send answer to above email address.

Hi there,

if you are using recovery disk then no need

to download drivers as it already contains all these drivers and

original factory settings

but if you are formatting it from a windows installation cd

then you will have to download it from official hp website

just follow this link:
