Cant hear my videos? not clearly

Hello,
i need help and i cant hear my videos when i make them ....and when i put my music from ipod and make video you can hear it but it sounds like alvin and the chipmunks...i really wanna make videos and dont wanna tell my parents it dont work cause they just got me a new laptop "dell inspiron" and they will never trust me again with stuff ...........also everytime i open a page then wanna close it it doesnt close?? soooo pleaseeeeeeee helppp me and tell me what to do pleaseee :/ ...:(
