Toshiba Satellite Screen Gone Out

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop and my screen has gone out. I need to use my external monitor. The monitor will not work on a normal boot up. It works if I use Safe Mode but I have no volume. The only other way I can get it to work is to use VGA Mode but everything is in large font.

Does anyone know of a way that I can get my external monitor to work using a normal bootup? I tried the FN F4 key but that did not work.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jerry

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0
