Help... virus on my system

Hi...
my system got infected between friday night and saturday morning and the virus has managed to cause major damage, now all my applications are corrupted (including IE), my system restore is corrupted as well and my avg antivirus keeps alerting me of found threats (about). please i dont know what to do and i formatted the system abt 3 wks ago plus I've got loads of files in there. please help me, anyone...
