Aspire 5315 Startup Problem

Hello,
Hey I have an Aspire 5315 with Vista Basic. I had downloaded a new update for the computer. When the computer rebooted it stops at the Microsoft Corp Load screen an dose nothing. I've tryed my recovory disks an they dont seen to work!! What can I do to fix this problem?!!
