Need help creating a dowloaded file for xbox

Hello,
i recently had a friend give me the driving wheel for the xbox 360 for my son. the issue is that he did not have the "software for the wireless driver" now i THINK i found a few places that have this software i need to be able to use that controller but here's where i get stuck

first, when i insert a blank disk how should i format it? keep in mind that it will need to be put in the xbox 360

second, once i find the software and download it to my PC what exactly do i need to do to be able to then create a properly formated disk and get that file on the disk so i can then load it onto the xbox 360?
