Cant access flash drive

Hello,

ive got 4gb toshiba flash, 4 some reason i am unable to open it anymore, it shows in my computer and then says i have to format it , which i dont want to do,got programs and data on it,is there some software available to get it working again thansk

If Windows wants to reformat a flash drive it's because it can't find the index to the data files. This may happen through a virus or damage caused by removing the drive while it was in the process for recording data.
