My friends told me that it is more reliable to get a stereo sound from Line In because it will enables Stereo recording.

Rather that recording with Mic iN.

My problem is that each time i am trying to record sound - nothing is detected from my line in.

but when i tried with Mic it works perfeclty.

But the sound is in Mono :0 so not good quality.

What can do u suggest?

Configuration: Windows XP

Ensure line-in is selected as the recording input. Only one can be selected at a time, so if you are receiving a recording signal from your microphone then you line-in cannot be active.

Fix:
Start > Control Panel > Sound, Speech, Audio (xp control panel) > Sound and Audio Devices > Select "Audio" tab > Under Sound Recording select the volume button > This will bring up a control panel with all your recording device inputs. Ensure the "Line In" "Selet" box is checked and the volume is at an appropriate level.
