The monitor on my laptop will not display

Hello My laptop(toshiba) got infected by 38 viruses, i had to wait for the computer enginer to fix the problem,aftter waitting for some time before he showed up, he plug in the computer, there was power but the monitor will not display any picture i don't know if it is the virus, so i can fomat it but how do i fomat the laptop without seeing what i'm doing.pleas i need your help

virus do not affect screen

you can format it

also you can add an external monitor to it
