Editing the filtered column

Hello,

I want to know if there is any way we can edit a filtered column.

I have a list of names in a column(say A). I want to replace some of the names with a new set of names. Those names that are to be replaced are at regular intervals say 10th 15th, 20th... cells of column A.

I filtered for the names to be replaced. I have the replacing names in some other workbook in consecutive cells of a column. I copied the replacing names and tried to paste in the filtered colum A of names to be replaced. But it did not work.

Please help me in doing this in one shot instead of doing it data by data.
