Hi,
Could you explain me why you and others continue to ask for an activation code of antispyware 2008 xp when many people tell you that it is a Malware you have to remove.

Hello,

First of all, next time, it would be a good idea to salute and to use polite forms like: "could you", "please", "thanks in advance" ...
Don't use capitals to write a message because a message written in all capital letters "looks like" shouting and is often interpreted as a sign of irritation.
I think , you should read this part of kioskea charter.

Otherwise, concerning your problem, try this :
1)Download and install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, make the update and shut down your computer and start it in "safe mode" (use F8 or F5, dependind of the computer during the boot) and do a complete scan. To complete, you have to open quarantine of malwarebytes and remove all it contains.

2)After download and install CCleaner (/!\ do not install yahoo toolbar) :

2.1) In left column, click on "registry", check all options, click on "Scan for Issues" button and after "Fix Selected Issues" button, a message to save your registry will appear, click on "Yes". Do it again until it find no errors.

2.2) After, you quit your web browser, and click on "Cleaner", in the left column, check all options except " Advanced", click on "Analyze" button and if it find something, click on "Run Cleaner" button.

Best regard "Pour trouver une solution  ses problmes, il faut s'en donner la peine."

Hi,

I read your post about how to solve malware problems. I was in that particular situation and i have downloaded the malwarebytes program as well as the CCleaner. My question is how do we know if the problem has been cleared or not because i continue to have pop ups requesting me to download antivirus and other spywares!

thanks

Hi,
This procedure is just for antispuware 2008 xp, maybe you are infected by an other malware or rogue.
There are many others who launch pop ups and the procedures vary depending on their name.

Delete this right away from your computer!
It is a scam to let you pay for nothing,
it shows alot of popups and fake trojans/keyloggers.
you can find some things on google to delete this.!

ONE MORE TIME FOR EVERYONE'S SAKE

Windows Antispyware 2008 XP is big-time malware. It looks authentic but it is the opposite. It was installed on your computer without your knowledge. Every pop-up saying you have X number of spyware and trojans is a lie. It is very hard to remove with standard spyware removers and antivirus programs. Don't even bother.

In order to get the creature OFF your computer. Go to www.malwarebytes .org and download the latest free program. Let it update with the latest signatures and then do the scan doing either "quick" or "full". There might be other programs that can remove it, but THIS is the one that has worked for the two computers I have recently encountered that have this problem. Good Luck!

boechi, on Aug 31, 2008 1:11:46 am BST

Dennis you just saved me a lot of time to reformat the computer!

I got a .mp3 form the internet and when opening it in winamp it did not work. In windows Media Player it opened my browser and told me that I have to download a codec for listening to the mp3.
DON'T DO THAT!
I downloaded the Trojan "HDVideoCodec_ver1.6032.0" and after running it my computer went crazy. It installed the Windows Antispyware XP 2008 and keeps telling me that my computer is infected. Every few minutes I get a pop up which you cannot close (either yes or no) and will result in your web-browser opening to download more things from internet.

The malwarebytes anti-malware software that Dennis recommended removed every malware and spyware from my computer. After restart I did not have a good desktop (but a folder). This can be fixed by going in the Display options (from your Control Panel) in the tab "Desktop" go to option "Customize Desktop". Here you will find in the tab "Web". Deselect every webpages that is enabled under "Web Pages" or removed the one selected.

Thanks one more time!

I have this on my laptop right now. I can't do anything. I can't do a system restore. I can't download software. When I Google anything and I click on a link resulting from my search, I either get "internet explorer cannot find page" or I get a sort of survey thing telling me to click on the phrase that best resembles my search words because they're checking for fraud. If I'm lucky enough to get to a website and I try to download any of the programs that have been recommended, it tells me that whatever I'm trying to download isn't a valid Win32 application. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Ideas?

33

kHaos, on Sep 10, 2008 7:49:56 am BST

Unfortunatley it isn't always that easy.
I have been trying for 4 days now, and yes I've used malware as well as superantispyware, AVG, ComboFis and many more. The one thing that actually worked awas to manuall remove all files having anything to do with it.
There is a guide to as how this is to be done, do a search (google) for "XP 2008 antivirus removal".

Good luck.

I totally agree with Dennis I have used malwarebytes on many pc's and it has always removed the 2008Xp virus completely, now I use it everytime a PC has an issue that could be virus related. It is a great product and best of all it is free.

TO FRAG, AND EVERYONE ELSE,

Thanks for the accolades, but I'm no hero. I'm just a guy who won't hesitate to tell the truth and try to steer people clear of dangers. All I expect is the same honest information from others at such time that I need it, too.

GOOD LUCK OUT THERE!
