IPod Shuffle won't work

Hello, my name is Lloyd.

I have a 2nd generation iPod shuffle, and when I plug it into my charger, it won't work. My brothers' one works fine, but mine doesn't, any solutions? Would be very grateful.

Yeah I know that, but no lights come on at all (an flashing amber light should come on to show that the iPod is charging)
