Autorun.inf virus

Hello,
i am doing the below in order to delete the autorun.inf from the USB , but i am not able to delete it.

H:\>ATTRIB Autorun.inf -H -S -R
H:\>del autorun.inf
H:\autorun.inf
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Could you please advise how to remove it?

on the other hand , every time i plug a clean USB to my PC , the USB will infect the autorun.inf , i i did scan my pc with symantec anti virus with the latest updated , but the virus is still existing on my PC.
Can you please advise how to remove it from MY PC.

Hi there,

follow these steps:

press start+r

type 'regedit' to open registry

go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion \Explorer\MountPoints2,

right click 'mountpoints2' and select 'permission'

next click 'Advance',uncheck 'inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child object

press remove

then 'Yes' and 'ok'

I did the procedure mentioned and i am still not able to remove the autorun.inf from the USB , i am getting the below message :

G:\>attrib -R -H -S autorun.inf

It definitely sounds as though its not just the USB drive that is infected, but the computer too. There will be no point removing the virus from the USB drive while the computer is still infected. I'd recommend removing the USB drive and cleaning the computer first with MalwareBytes, HiJackThis and your regular security program. Then worry about the USB drive.

If you're unable to clean them, maybe just try http://www.fixedlikemagic.com

That way you'll know the computer is definitely clean ;)

The autorun virus always come from pen drive. The easiest way to prevent this virus is to disable the autorun feature completely. Go to google and search "disable autorun completely" and there is a lot of solution there.
