I want cells to change background colour

hi there


i want to formula something in excel for eg:

in column J- i want if a person enters "yes" then the cell should change to green.
If a person enters "no" then the cell should change to red
if a person enters "partial" then the cell should change to tan

also in the end of the column i want a cell to count the number of greens, reds and tan

how can i do that.

Have you looked at conditional formatting for your problem?

what version of excel are you using?
