My touch pad mouse

Hello,

Well lately my laptop has been acting strange it would download and turn on normally but is my touch pad mouse, that is not working it would move but when at click at something it wont download or either the tab won't pop up so i have no clue whats wrong with it someone help?

and also my computer when its just on for a few minutes the screen would go black.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

go to device manager

expand the list till touch pad

then update its driver
