Hello,

I have a gateway FX laptop and yesterday i came home after not using my laptop for a day. It turned on normally but i didnt realize it was low on battery so it was going into hybernation mode, since it took while to shut off i did hard reset by holding down button for 10sec i have done this before an it didnt have negative outcome. Here is where the problem starts, i turned my computer back on but the screen stays black while computer lights are on. Once in while if i wait long time i can turn it on an it will work but its a crap shoot. I put Vista boot disc in but i dont see a repair option at all. When it doesnt work it wont even go to log in screen. Please if anyone knows what happening please help. Friend of mine said he heard the last Vista update was bad an gave few of my other friends similar problem on thier computers, if anyone knows if that is true and can solve problem id be very grateful.

Configuration: Mac OS X
Safari 419.3
