Canot connect to the wireless internet

Hello,
i bought an acer netbook d250 aspier
wen i m trying to connect to an internet connection wirelessly its showing me limited or no connectivity though other laptops r using the same connection n there is no problem as such.

operating system is xp home
its new n dont knoe wat to do...
is there any problem with the machine or some setting problem

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi there,

go to command prompt

press start_r

type cmd

then ipconfig/release

ipconfig/flushdns

and finally ipconfig/renew

the problem i m facing noe..... wen ever i try to do it, the laptop restarts n then i get a message the system has recovered from a serious error

n everything remains the same .....is there any oder solution to my mnain problem....any chqange is wireless setting or is dis bcoz of service pack 3

The problem is not solved sir,
wen i type ipconfig/release
media state is shown disconnected
