Usb storage device not working

Hello,
i was not able to connect my motorola model v8 to my pc and not able to transfer datas photos and songs from pc to phone,phone to pc.my pc configuration is intel core 2 duo and my operating system is windows xp.the usb driver could not be installed, it shows error10.if i connect the usb data cable to my pc from my phoneit tries to read but the abov said problem is repeated.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0
