Cannot install messenger 9.0 by cd

Hello,
good moring sir/madam. i have a problem on installing windows messenger 9.0 i install it by the cd i buyed. but it says tha you need to install a newer version. i installed a newer version but still it it would not work i am not installing it by the internet but by the compact disc(CD).please take some action and mail to me soon as possible thanks.

Dear Saara,

Please contact the Customer Service where you purchased the installation cd.

It might be that they have not sold an original copy to you or having made a defective installation cd

accessible to you.
