Want to make a partition

Hi i bought an hp and i didn't get the drivers as everything stored on a partition. But the thing is that there is Vista on the pc and i wanted to put xp on that.
i tried to make a partition on the pc but it doesn't come to a primary drive, it comes like logical drive.

what should be done ??
