AVG 8.5 uninstall problem

Hello,

Recently installed AVG 8.5 free download. It was really slowing down my computer so decided to uninstall. Each time I try to uninstall, at the end a window appears that says that the following programs must be terminated before uninstall. It shows avg, microsoft word and my outlook express inbox. Does this mean that I will lose word and my inbox? I always exit at that point because I don't want to agree to lose those other 2. Please help.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0
