File sharing with ethernet cable on netgear

Hello,
I have 2 pc`s sharing internet connections via netgear router. I am extreamly stupid when it comes to networking and tried a few things like, creating workgroup etc. I can see pc2 on pc1 and verse vise but keep on getting error messages. I need detail description on how to setup a network that will allow me to share files between 2 pc`s connected to one netgear router via ethernet cables. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee help

Configuration: Windows XP SP2
internet explorer8 and firefox3.5

be shared on the network

create a folder or the folder to be shared

right click on in>

properties>

sharing tab
