Problem with external hard drive

Hello,
i have a toshiba external hard drive and i format it in windows and now i can't put anything new from my mac. and i don't know what to do. i was thinking about format it in my mac but i don't know how to do that either.
i try to format it again in my pc but it doesn't give me the option for compatibility.

Hi there,

go to disk management

and shrink the drive in two parts

that is to make a partition

use one for windows and other one for mac
