Hello,

I would like to help a visually challenged friend who extensively uses MS Excel.

There are different types of formulas in one sheet. He would like to see the content of the formula and not the formula itself. For example, in Column A1, it is basic pay, column B1 has HRA and column C1 has DA. Column D1 is total. A2, B2, C2 have corresponding figures while D2 gives the sum of A2, B2 and C2. Using the show formula function, he can see the formula. What he would like to see in D4 is something like this - <Sum of Basic, HRA, DA> He uses a screen reading software and finds it difficult to scroll through each cell to understand how the values are arrived at especially when different set of formulas are used in a sheet.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks in advance.

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

If you are trying to understand what a formula does, select the "extra" option from the top menus (6th option from the left). Then select the 13th option from the top (something like "check formula"). Lastly click on the 5th option from the top (something like "evaluate formula").
On the menu that appears, repeatly click on the "evaluate" button to see each step of the formula.
Use this on all the formula's you would like to understand better.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Trowa
