Hello,

I have a HP Media Center Pavillion M8000N computer, running Windows Vista 64 - 5200+ processor - purchased in Sept 07. Last week it started shutting down and restarting for no apparent reason. Checking for solutions has not helped at all. Can anyone help?
Thank you

Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 3.0

Well... maybe if u formatted your hard disk and reinstalled your operation system it will fix... or on the worst case, u may have a case of bad capacitors :(

What are capacitors ? mine shuts down and restarts like 10 times in a row it runs a chkdsk then tries to start only to come back to start windows normally and starts the whole process all over again. i have read that it my be overheating but after 3 mins. or the bios need to be changed but i dont even know how that works. so now i need to know what these capacitors are please reply

This actually could be one or more of many problems, but if it is restarting on it's own it could be just a simple video card or a ram stick going bad. vacuum out the insides, pull your cpu to make sure there is paste on the back of it. If your capacitors are swollen (the barrel shaped metal things on the motherboard) and the marks are split, your motherboard is gone. After all of these things, try a different power supply this also could be the problem.

Omg i try to change my whole input device such as graphics card memory, and power supply, i also add some cooling device in my CPU, but nothing happens, when i try to play, ran online, audition, or halo, it keeps restarting after few minutes of play. maybe its the CPU lol heheheh!!! i dont want to loose it i am using Dual Quad Core Xeon, too expensive to dump,, i try to bring it to service center but they dont have any replacement for its procesor,

cpu:Dual Quad Core Xeon
memory:8gb ddr

Virus infection may have corrupted your system files so the best you can do is reinstall your OS
