Hello,

I am NOT a computer programmer, but I have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 (185Mb), Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack Pack 2 (180 Mb) and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SPI (28Mb) taking up valuable hard-drive space.

Wikipedia says that these programs help computer-specialists.

Do I need these programs on my machine?

I'd appreciate any sensible advice that anyone can offer.
Thanks!

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello Sir,

These programs are essentials for running certain programs which require Microsoft.NET framework!

So never uninstall it as it's really useful!

If you have more questions about programs please do not hesitate to ask on the forum

Thank you

Dear closeup22,

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

I may not be able to get expand the memory on this machine, so if I can get rid of any un-necessary programs, that would be great. You say that Microsoft.NET is "really useful".

Why is that? What will it help me, a non-computer specialist, to do? If it doesn't help me with Windows XP, MS Office, INternet Explorer, my printer etc., I can't see that it is earning its keep.

What does Microsoft.NET do?

Thanks.
