Hi,
The system I have is Broadband into Broadband Modem, From Modem to Firewall ( Linux Ipcop), from ther into my Dlink DGS-1016D Gigabyte Switch, and then to my computers. This work fine and I have no problems at all at this time.
I decided to get a WiFi for the Laptops in the house, I did have a Dlink DWL-2100AP and this was set up with a static IP address within my current system and linked into the Switch Hub for the Internet and connection to the rest of the computers on My Network.
I recently bought a Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router. I have installed it and it working fine.
I had also set it up with a static IP address fitting inside my system.
I was using a laptop the other night and I was unable to see any of my computers other than the laptops on the wifi. I did a IPconfig to see was Ip addresses were being given out and I noticed that the Router was giving out Ip address instead of my Firewall. So I tried altering the system inside the Netgear Router and Failed miserably.
Had to reset the Router, I have tried several time to tell it not to be a DHCP server, but as soon as I do that it becomes unuseable until I do a Factory reset.
I have tried talking to Netgear...they do not want to know about my problem.
I am very computer literate and need some guidance in setting up the Wifi so it takes the DHCP listings from My Firewall and then distributes the IP address I have set up to the laptops so my network can see them all.
Every hopefull
Thanks in advance
Steve
