Sound doesnt work when watching dvds

Hello,

I have a problem with my dell laptop. The sounds works fine it Im on the internet or listening to cds on my laptop. But if I play a dvd there is sounds for say 20 seconds then theres nothing? I can also watch tv programmes with no problems too.

try using another dvd disk

or use another player like vlc
