Hello
I have a GeForce 8600GT with 512 MB of memory. I've tried plenty of video cards of a lesser power than that and they all worked...sort of. Little glitches and problems seemed to always pop up though and it just wasn't a perfect experience on a dual monitor setup (one 1680x1050 and one 1920x1080) until I hit the 8600GT. Since then, its been butter all the way. So something on a par with the 8600GT should serve you well. Some of the new ATI cards are supposed to be very good also. You probably want to look for a dual DVI port card (if the monitors have DVI of course) and use that connection and save the HDMI ports for an upscaling DVD player. Going from dual DVI to HDMI might work or it might cause some scaling problems. |
