I've recently re-installed windows.now i don't have sound on my pc.control panel shows a big yellow question mark for multimedia audio controller, but i've lost the cd for it.
what can i do?
I have exactly the same problem.
it is a self built pc.
my motherboard has nothing to do with my sound card, they are different components.
i have no idea what sound card i have, it doesnt appear to have any writing or stickers that could be of any use in identifying it.
i know i need the drivers, but i cant find them because i dont know what card it is.
i have downloaded many many diagnostic and hardware profiling programs and none have given me the name of my card.
for some reason i can hear effects when i play them on the setting from my desktop, but i havent found anything else that actually plays the sound it should.
