My maxtor onetouch 4 mini not working

Hello,
i have maxtor onetouch 4 mini it used to work on my laptop today i plugged the usb and the light showed up on the maxtor but my laptop didn't regonised it also i tried in other laptop same problem.
somebody have a solution for that i tried to contact maxtor support they told me the drive is failed but didnt ave me a solution

Hello Sir,

you will have to check if windows is detected the hard drive,

Connect it and then right click on Computer,

Select Manage,

Click on Disk Management,

If you can see your external hard drive! Just right click on it and change the path Letter, for example if it's H:

Change it to I:
